What you've got: Small window boxes high up overlooking open courtyard with lots of natural light.
Gareth says: The growing area is very limited here but thinking small doesn't mean you're going to miss out on flavour.
Salad leaves or a selection of culinary herbs will be more than happy here. Try hardy plants such as oregano, parsley, mint or even basil mint (if you want something a bit different). You will be able to pick up a great selection of herbs in your local supermarket or independent garden centre. Opt for hardy and perennial herbs for your first attempt, and these will provide flavour for your cooking all through the summer and winter. Rocket also packs a lot of punch for very little space.
