What you've got: Tubs in an open courtyard that gets lots of natural light. And railings. The original plan was to grow climbing plants.
Gareth says: If the tubs have been there for a while you'll need to clear out the old soil and recharge the pots with fresh compost. Climbing plants are a good solution to the problem of limited floor space.
The easiest climbing veg to grow are peas and beans. These can be grown from seed or purchased cheaply from most garden centres.
