The ambassador's receptions are noted in society for their host's exquisite taste. Perhaps they should have been noted for the fact the wealthy, government fat cat chose to serve his guests foil-wrapped chocolates you can buy in the local garage. In fact if the ambassador really was spoiling us surely he'd have got in outside caterers and not rolled out shop-bought chocolates on a silver tray.
Though I grant you everything looks flash stacked in a pyramid.
