Andrew samples a traditional Somerset tipple. We all know the region is famous for cider but how about adding a drop of brandy?
There's a long record of cider brandy in Somerset but production had died out before Julian Temperley and his wife Diana were granted a full licence to distil in 1989.
The couple was already making cider from the 40 varieties of cider apples grown on their land on the edge of the Somerset levels when they decided to bring back the traditional drink that's not been brewed in Britain on a grand scale for centuries.
Bursting with individual character the taste of cider brandy can most closely be compared to a Normandy Calvados.
