The magic of mushrooms
After Swansea it was on to the Black Mountains to rest a while amid a mountain of mushrooms. To earn his keep for a week Andrew arranged to help out at Humungus Fungus, a farm, as the name suggests dedicated to the mighty mushroom. After learning the art of fungus production and the ways of the shiitake Andrew got to grips with the local pigs and tried his hand at porcine management.
No visit to Wales would be complete without a stop in Snowdonia and Pete’s Eats at the foot of Mount Snowdon was just the place for Andrew to catch his breath. With the help of pint mugs of tea and a host of friendly staff, the roving reporter was quickly replenished and ready to hit the road once more – on to Conwy to meet a butcher as comfortable in a BMW as a bloody apron.
