About Hellmann’s... bring out the best!

At the heart of Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise are free range eggs, oil and vinegar, and because the oil is from rapeseed it is also a good natural source of mono and polyunsaturated fats and vegetable based
Omega-3.

Nutritionist, Liz Leigh-Firbank with a Doctorate in Nutrition:

It is important to have a nutritionally balanced diet with the right types of fat. Rapeseed oil is a natural source of ‘good’ unsaturated fats and rich in vegetable based omega 3 an essential part of a nutritionally balanced diet. Our bodies cannot make omega 3 and we need to get it from the diet, current UK intake data shows that a lot of people diets do not contain enough. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends to consume 1 to 2% food energy as omega 3 which is equivalent to 2 to 4 g per day for a woman.Other sources of vegetable omega 3 include walnuts, and other oils such as soya and linseed and fish omega 3 can be obtained from oily fish such as salmon and herrings.

Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise is made using rapeseed oil, the oil low with one of the lowest saturated fat levels. A level tablespoon (15ml) of Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise provides 1.2g of vegetable omega 3 that is about 60% of the recommended amount. A level tablespoon (15ml) of Hellmann’s Light Mayonnaise provides 0.4g of vegetable omega 3 that is about 20%.
