Susy Atkins

Susy Atkins is an award-winning wine writer and broadcaster. As a young journalist, she spent part of the 1994 harvest in Australia's Barossa Valley wine region, learning the ropes as a cellarhand in two wineries.

However talentless she admits to being as a winemaker, something 'clicked' about the fabulous world of wine, as on her return she became a full-time freelance wine writer and shortly afterwards, the co-editor of the prestigious Which? Wine Guide.

Today she is the author of ten modern, accessible wine books, two of which have won major awards. In 2004 Susy was the international Wine & Spirit Competition's 'Communicator of the Year'. She writes a weekly column for the Sunday Telegraph, and is wine editor of Delicious magazine, as well as appearing regularly on TV, notably Richard & Judy and BBC1's Saturday Kitchen.

Susy gives regular wine talks and tutored tastings across the UK, including at the London Wine Show in Islington each year. She lives in Devon with her young family.
