Son of Henry Fonda, Peter Fonda was born in New York in 1939. Fonda abandoned mainstream Hollywood to star in a number of fantastic independent films. Biker movie, The Wild Angels caused a sensation on its release. His 1967 film The Trip was inspired by Fonda's drug use. However, it was 1969's Easy Rider which immortalised Fonda and began a revolution against the studio system in Hollywood. Considering the controversy surrounding much of his life and the drug taking, it is surprising to learn that Fonda only arrested once - for defacing public property.
