The object of a thousand schoolboy crushes thanks to her leather-clad role in camp TV series The Avengers, Dame Diana Rigg has gained immense respect for her wide-ranging work in the theatre - and found time to fit in the odd rent-paying film part such as the 1969 Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Her other films include The Assassination Bureau, Theatre Of Blood and A Little Night Music (1977) but Rigg's self-confessed passion remains the theatre where she has shone in Medea, Mother Courage and Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? The Yorkshire-born actress continues to perform on screen and stage.
