Born in Tasmania in 1909, Flynn attended many posh schools in Australia and England, and was expelled from most of them. After spending time looking for gold in Australia and New Guinea, he appeared as Fletcher Christian in In The Wake Of The Bounty in 1933. In Hollywood he became a star of costume adventure movies - if you wanted a good-looking swashbuckler with an enormous sword, Errol was your man. He excelled in Michael Curtiz's The Adventures Of Robin Hood (1938).
