Lynn Redgrave

avg. user rating: 4.9 (8 votes)

A member of the illustrious Redgrave clan, London-born Lynn Redgrave (OBE) has been acting on stage and screen for more than forty years. Daughter of Sir Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, (and sister of fellow actors Vanessa & Corin) Redgrave was one of the founder members of the British National Theatre prior to appearing on film. A small part in Tom Jones (1963) was her first film role, but it was her starring role in Georgy Girl (1966) that brought international recognition and garnered an Oscar nomination (against sister Vanessa, although both lost to Elizabeth Taylor). Redgrave has kept busy in the years since, featuring in films such as Woody Allen's Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex, But Were Afraid To Ask (1975), The Happy Hooker and Gods And Monsters (1998), which earned her another Oscar nomination. In spite of being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, Redgrave continues to act on Broadway and on film.
