Predominantly cast for her looks alone, Jacqueline Bisset is also a fantastic actress. It is often assumed that she must be French, but Bisset was actually born and raised in England. Originally a model, she became famous in 1967 after starring in Casino Royale and Two For The Road. Bisset gained recognition for her acting ability after starring in Bullitt, alongside Steve McQueen, and turning in a fine performance in François Truffaut's Day For Night in 1973. Her wet t-shirt scenes in The Deep, in 1977, caused an international stir, but Bisset had tired of her sexpot image and refused to allow any stills from the movie to be published. Since then, she has quietly gone about turning in fine performances in films like High Season, Under The Volcano and Sleepy Time Gal.
