The owner of one of the most famous moustaches in the world, Burt Reynolds was born in Georgia in 1936 and was a College American Football star before being sidelined by injury. Reynolds turned to acting and after appearing in the TV series Riverboat and a few films he became a huge star after his performance in the 1972 film Deliverance. Now a box office star, Reynolds mixed comedy action films like White Lightning, Smokey And The Bandit and Cannonball Run with more serious films like Shamus and the excellent prison American Football film The Longest Yard. After fading away in the 90s, Reynolds made a strong comeback in Boogie Nights and received an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as an ageing porn director trying to make serious movies.
