Christopher Lee was born in Belgravia, London in 1922. His father was a colonel and his mother a Countess and noted Edwardian beauty. A scholarship took Lee to Eton before he served in the RAF throughout WWII. Decorated for distinguished service he began acting in 1947 and, though he will forever be known primarily for his Hammer movies, Lee has appeared in more films than any other actor.
