Donald Sutherland

avg. user rating: 5 (6 votes)

Born in 1934 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Donald Sutherland started out in showbiz by DJing on local radio aged 14. He made his film debut in the Italian schlock horror Castle Of The Living Dead (1964) - while Christopher Lee played an evil count who mummified visitors to his castle, Sutherland played two roles, one of which was an old woman. He hit fame with M*A*S*H in 1970 and subsequently played in political films (the strongly anti-Nam FTA, a filmed record of an anti-War revue), bawdy comedies (Animal House) and plain stinkers (the legendarily bad S*P*Y*S, 1974).
