Doctor in the House: This is the first and best of the Doctor films, made when Bogarde's good looks and self-deprecatory smile could still charm the birds from the trees and the movie's innocent humour had not been replaced, as later in the series, with inanity and vulgarity. The high-spirited junior doctors (not quite junior enough, perhaps) created by Gordan seemed fresh and funny in the mid-1950s...
