Spry, elegant, ravishingly filmed portraits of women with strong complex desires who cannot articulate them.
WHAT IS HER BACKGROUND?
Campion graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 1975, achieved a painting major at the Sydney College of the Arts in 1979 and began working on film at the Australian School of Film and Television. Her first short film Peel, was made in 1982. Her latest, In The Cut, a police thriller starring Meg Ryan shoots this year.
WHO DOES SHE WORK WITH?
Aside from her actors, Campion's principal cinematographers have been Sally Bongers and Stuart Dryburgh; composer Michael Nyman famously scored the soundtrack of soundtracks to The Piano, Veronika Haussler Jenet is her regular editor, Jan Chapman her producer.

Married to Colin Englert, a well known Australian TV producer.
