Ken Loach talks about making films which can touch the hearts and minds of people. He is one of the masters of making films which are gritty, dark and realistic but often amusing too.
He feels that he has a responsibility to reflect the truth as much as possible through his work and make people think about a world they are not used to.
Cathy Come Home is an example of a film, where he tried to change people's attitudes towards the homeless. His other films include Poor Cow, Riff Raff, Carla's Song, My Name Is Joe and Bread and Roses.
He believes that content is more important than style.
