A Julie Andrews vehicle about a 1920s farm girl who recreates herself as a modern city woman, and then decides that she must marry her boss to be happy. Tommy (1975)

The Who bring us psychedelic rock opera in this totally over-the-top musical about a deaf, dumb and blind kid who becomes a near deity. Tommy discovers a talent for pinball and despite his disability is soon whipping Elton John on the machines. With loud songs by The Who and lunatic direction from Ken Russell, Tommy is unique.

Top Hat (1935)

Arguably the classiest and funniest of the RKO Astaire-Rogers musicals. Fred Astaire is the musical star who meets Ginger Rogers whilst travelling through London. Falling instantly in love with her, he seeks to charm her with a display of tap-dance. Featuring some of Fred Astaire's greatest solo work in numbers like 'Top Hat And Tails', the musical really comes to life when he and Rogers perform together in 'Cheek To Cheek'.
