The eight members of the Orange FilmFour jury got together on January 21st to select the six entrants who will go on to the final stage of the Orange FilmFour Prize For Short Film, making their short films with funding and advice from FilmFour.
Twelve entries were presented to the jury and the daunting task of choosing the projects they favoured was under way. The jurors were passionate throughout the debate, and commented afterwards about the quality of work they had seen and how important they consider short films to be in developing a career in the film industry.
Juror Ayub Khan-Din commented: "Competitions like this are important. It gives people the chance to start making films and, more importantly, it enables someone with no industry experience to compete on an equal level with someone who's had some form of training". The six entrants chosen by the jury to go through to the final stage of the competition are:
