Now that he's retired (from acting at least), there's never been a better time to reflect on the storied career of Clinton Eastwood Jr. The professional life of cinema's favourite cowboy has rarely looked better than it does in David Frangioni's Clint Eastwood Icon (Titan). Chock full of rare posters and international artwork, Frangioni's book is a testament to the global appeal of the multiple-Oscar winner. You'll no doubt have your own favourites but here are some of the most classic and some of the more idiosyncratic images from Frangioni's indispensible book

A Fistful Of Dollars
As rather befits a film featuring The Man With No Name, this original Dollars poster depicts Eastwood as a man with no face. Given how familiar his chiselled features have become, it's strange to think there was once a time where Clint's face wasn't his fortune. Look back to his Sergio Leone films and you'll see that it wasn't until the pictures were re-released that Eastwood became their big selling point. Prior to that, it was a combination of Leone's involvement and the promise of gunfire a-plenty that pulled in the punters.
