10) Shattered Glass
In the decade characterised by lies, damned lies and massaged statistics, an excellent, real-life drama of betrayal, starring Hayden Christensen as disgraced 'New Republic' reporter Stephen Glass. A few years later, there would be bigger - much bigger - liars to call to account, but for fabricating 27 of his 41 fascinating stories, this precocious talent and compulsive liar ranked alongside the 'New York Times's' Jayson Blair as the favourite-whipping boy for a hand-wringing media during the late 1990s. (See the decade's finest drama, 'The Wire', for more lying hack action.) Glass went on to write a novel - 'The Fabulist' - about a brilliant reporter named, er, Stephen Glass, who invents stories. We live in interesting times. Sick, but interesting.
