Pegg, Frost and Wright - the world's funniest firm of solicitors. Britain's always produced decent genre films but it took a thin bloke, a fat bloke and a hairy bloke to turn the country into a genuine comedy powerhouse. Seriously, you can put Shaun and Hot Fuzz up against any Hollywood 'laugh-fest' and it'll be our transatlantic cousins who'll come off worse. And while the likes of Judd Apatow might have brought a certain sweetness to the form, Simon, Nick and Edgar conjure up so much warmth, they ought to embark upon a winter tour of rest homes. Gentlemen - you are amongst the best reasons for going to the movies today. Help yourselves to a large slice of fried gold.
