It's over 50 years since Hammer Film first ushered in an age of blood, sex and barely contained cleavage in horror films that made international stars of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Hammer Glamour Pictures
Madeline Smith, also known for a string of camp comedy roles on shows like 'The Two Ronnies', is a quintessential Hammer glamour puss. With big, beautiful eyes and an hourglass figure, the convent-educated former Biba model frolicked alongside Peter Cushing in Frankenstein And The Monster From Hell and romped with Ingrid Pitt in The Vampire Lovers. But as she says today, "At the time, a lot of what is considered 'cult' now didn't get any attention. These films came and went and if you were lucky you might get a little article in a film magazine. I certainly never imagined I would be on the cover of a book in 2009 - I thought I'd be dead and forgotten."
