The Stud

100. The Stud (1978)

Tacky 1970s sexploitation flick based on a book by Jackie Collins and starring her sister Joan as a jet-setting sex-pot. The film, and its sequel The Bitch, has not dated well, but at the time it revived Joan's flagging movie career and landed her her role as Alexis Carrington in Dynasty (as well as a Playboy spread). Her co-star Tobias Young, the stud of the movie's title, claims that Joan particularly enjoyed the famous 'orgy in a swimming pool' scene. Apparently she "took off and got carried away", while he was forced to fake an orgasm. Poor lamb.

Apocalypse Now
Martin Sheen journeys through Vietnam and Cambodia to terminate flipped-out renegade US colonel Marlon Brando. But his mission becomes a screaming trip into madness, stunningly realised by Coppola's hallucinogenic direction and a cast dragged from Hollywood's Narcotics Anonymous
