FilmFour is only £7 a month on Sky digital (other distributors £6) and screens over 100 great films a month.
Do I need to subscribe to a digital/cable provider to get FilmFour?
Yes, in order to get FilmFour you need to subscribe to an operator such as Sky digital, ntl:home or Telewest.
What are the three channels that FilmFour offer?
There are 3 channels available to Sky digital and ntl:home subscribers; FilmFour (our main channel), FilmFour+1 (a one-hour time-shifted version of the main channel) and FilmFour Weekly (With three great movies a week, playing every night at 8, 10 and midnight from Monday to Sunday). All channels run seven nights a week.
Where is FilmFour available?
FilmFour is only available in the UK and Ireland because we buy film rights by region. In order to provide the channel elsewhere we would have to renegotiate all the rights for that market.
How do I find out what is on the FilmFour channel?
There are many ways you can check what's on our 3 channels. An easy way is through our homepage calendar at www.filmfour.com. Just select the day you want to watch FilmFour and it will bring up what's on the main channel that day. You can then click on "See FilmFour +1" or "See FilmFour Weekly" to get what's on the other channels.
The left navigation bar also allows you to browse our movies by date or by name. Just click on the "all our movies by date" or "all our movies by name".
And if you can't wait to see what's coming up, then get a sneak preview in the "Coming soon" section of our website.
How are movies screened on FilmFour?
FilmFour aims to screen films so that they look like they do in the cinema, as intended by the filmmakers. As we know, that means that some films will look like wide letterboxes with black bands above and below. Sometimes the picture will be very wide (2.55 times wider than high), or at other times, almost square (1.37 times wider than high). Of course, sometimes we fail to find the perfect copy because not all films have been properly transferred. Most often though, we succeed, and the whole picture is there, edge to edge, as the director intended.
