Will this announcement mean changes to the quality of the programming prior to July?
No, there will be no changes until the new free-to-air channel launches in July.

Every night from 6pm, FilmFour will continue to screen over 100 of the best hand-picked films a month, from the best of British and American cinema to foreign language and cult classics.

Until July, we are continuing to focus on giving our existing subscribers the best possible service. In the upcoming months, highlights will include:

The UK TV premieres of Dead Man's Shoes and The Assassination of Richard Nixon in our Thrillers season in March.

In April we will be screening the entire season of Studio Ghibli Japanese animated films in their original language versions alongside channel premieres such as Cabin Fever and Jason Vs Freddy.

There is a Todd Solondz triple bill of Happiness, Storytelling and the UK TV premiere of Palindromes.

Other upcoming UK TV premieres include Tropical Malady, The Woodsman, Notre Musique, Calvaire, Untold Scandal, Primer, R-Point, One Night In Mongkok and Vital.

Will all three channels - FilmFour, FilmFour +1 and FilmFour Weekly - be available on the free-to-air service?

For some subscribers, FilmFour Weekly is currently available as part of a paying package. There are no plans to continue with this service when FilmFour moves to a free-to-air service. However, we will keep the range of films we are currently showing across our three channels and they will all be part of the new channel schedule.

There are currently no plans to launch any other channels.

How will I receive FilmFour?
The channel will launch on Freeview for the first time and will continue to be available to all cable and satellite viewers at no additional cost. On digital satellite, the FilmFour Channel will be available to freesat viewers as well as Sky digital subscribers.

Will I need to re-programme my digital box?
Most existing digital TV viewers with relatively new boxes won’t need to do anything. However, some may encounter a few problems and may need to re-programme their box. Full details will be posted on our site closer to the launch.

On which channel will FilmFour be available?
Channel numbers per platform are still to be confirmed. More details will follow on this later in the year.
