Aubrey Davis (Amber Tamblyn – "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", Joan of Arcadia, The Ring) discovers that her sister Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar, The Grudge, Scream 2, Cruel Intentions) is being hospitalized in Japan and is under investigation for starting a fire in a Tokyo house that resulted in the death of her boyfriend. When Aubrey goes to bring her sister home she learns from a local reporter and photographer, Eason (Edison Chen) that her sister, Karen, is in the thrall of something unseen and dangerous.
Allison (Arielle Kebbel – American Pie: Presents Band Camp, Be Cool) attends an international school in Tokyo. Desperately trying to fit in with the school’s “in” crowd, Vanessa (Teresa Palmer – Wolf Creek, December Boys) and Miyuki (Misako Uno), Alison is willing to do anything they ask – even if it means going into a mysterious burned-down house, which was the site of several unexplained murders and strange disappearances.
The young introverted Jake (Matthew Knight) isn’t happy that his widowed father Bill (Christopher Cousins) is engaged to Trish (Jennifer Beals – Flashdance, The L Word). He also doesn’t understand why one of his next-door neighbors is being so elusive. It seems that everyone in his apartment building is acting stranger and stranger.
