You Are What You Eat
Raj Mann Revisit

Last year straight-talking holistic nutritionist Gillian McKeith took the nation by storm as she set out to reform the eating habits of some of Britain's worst eaters in just eight weeks. The results were phenomenal, with all of her intrepid volunteers losing on average two ½ stone each.

But how did the slimmed-down success stories get on once Gillian's watchful gaze had moved on? Five months on, Gillian pays a return visit to one of the brave volunteers and catches up with Raj Mann, a 27-year-old market analyst from Warwick.

When Gillian first met 5ft 8 Raj seven moths ago he weighed 22 stone. Raj was the ultimate sneaky eater. Even though his wife, Dali, cooked fresh, healthy meals for the family every evening, Raj used to stop off for a takeaway on his way home before dinner. To make matters worse, Raj was also such a snack-a-holic that he had his own freezer out in the garage full of all sorts of goodies such as chips and pizzas which he raided when the family had gone to bed.

Gillian knew that Raj needed a wake up call and that Dali must know the truth, so she confronted them with all the food that Raj had eaten in a week in addition to the meals prepared by Dali. They were both stunned.

So seven months after their first meeting, what did Gillian find when she returned to see Raj? To her delight Raj now weighs 16 stone – an incredible five stone loss. He exercises daily and goes running three times a week. Dali confirms that he and his eating habits have been transformed, and the sneaky eating has stopped.

Raj says he will never go back to his old ways, and that his goal is to run the London Marathon.
