You Are What You Eat
After the excesses of the Christmas season, most of us don't feel or look our best. By following some of Gillian's tips you'll soon be back on the road to looking and feeling great in the New Year.

Peach
Problem: No Energy

Increase Vitamin B intake by eating more bean and alfalfa sprouts, whole grains, oats, parsley and seaweed.
Snack on sunflower seeds, excellent for a mid afternoon snack.
Peaches are great for an energy boost. They are packed with vitamins.
Lunch on brown rice, vegetables and yams and avoid caffeine and sugary snacks.

Fennel
Problem: Bloating and flatulence

Do not drink liquids with meals. Have a drink 30 minutes either side of the meal.
Squeeze a little bit of lemon on food.
Do not eat when you are stressed.
Miso soup can help prevent flatulence.
If you suffer from severe bloating or flatulence you may suffer from IBS and should consult your doctor. Cutting out red meat, processed foods, dairy, cheese, eggs, corn, sugars, sweeteners, margarine, wheat, alcohol and coffee for a couple of months may also help.
Drink peppermint or fennel tea to soothe gut and calm inflammation.

Problem: Excess weight

Do not eat late at night.
Cut out alcohol.
Eat healthy, do not eat less, just eat the right foods. If you tell yourself you are on a diet you will be more likely to stray.
Drink warm water with a squeeze of lemon first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
Do not mix protein with carbohydrates and only eat fruit 30 minutes before or after a meal.
