You Are What You Eat
Lisa
This week, Gillian meets 28-year-old Lisa Aspden, a busy mum juggling the needs of her toddler with planning her own wedding day, including finding a size 22 dress for her 19 ½ stone frame. Her fiancé Paul is so concerned about her future health that he’s secretly given diet dictator Gillian McKeith a ring.

Gillian will not allow Lisa to walk down the aisle looking like a giant meringue so she surprises her in a bridal shop whilst she’s trying on gowns. Lisa agrees she needs to get healthy so she can stop worrying about her weight and concentrate on her wedding.

Paul has kept a record of everything she eats in a week, including three slices of cheese on toast, two large chunks of cheddar cheese, a slice of cheesecake and two cheese and ham salad sandwiches.

Lisa
Lisa clearly loves cheese and, to make matters worse, eats late at night and grazes all day. She typically eats 800 calories over her recommended daily allowance. She feels tired, suffers with poor skin, and has a low sex-drive – not ideal for a soon-to-be-wed.

A few weeks in to the new regime and Lisa has managed to avoid the cheese counter and try most of the recipes, despite finding a few unappetising. She is finding it difficult to find time to exercise with her toddler around so, Gillian finds her a gym with a crèche.

By week six Lisa is progressing well. Her taste buds have improved and she is even able to go out to dinner, following Gillian’s rules and eating off menu.

Gillian returns after the eight weeks and Lisa looks fabulous. She’s lost over two stone, lost seven inches from her waist and dropped almost three wedding dress sized. Lisa cannot wait to walk down the aisle as a slimmer bride to marry Paul.
