Gillian’s cacao smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 large banana or 2 small bananas
  • 1 heaped tbsp of cacao powder or
  • 200ml rice milk
  • Method

    Blend until smooth.

    Gillian’s hot not chocolate

    Ingredients

  • 1-2 tsp of raw cacao powder
  • rice or oat milk
  • agave syrup
  • Method

    Just whisk the cacao powder into warmed rice or oat milk with agave syrup for a delicious drink.

    Beetroot bliss for the liver

    Ingredients
    Serves 1-2

  • 3 carrots, trimmed
  • 3 celery sticks, trimmed
  • half a cucumber, halved lengthways
  • 1 small beetroot, roughly chopped
  • Method

    Blend and serve as a juice. This is a perfect drink for boosting flagging energy levels.

    Celery, carrot and beetroot juice

    Ingredients
    Serves 1-2

  • 1 small beetroot
  • 2 celery stalks, trimmed
  • 2 carrots, washed, topped and tailed
  • 1cm piece of root ginger (optional)
  • Method

    Push them all through the juicer, stir and enjoy.

    Dandelion coffee

    Ingredients
    Serves 2

  • 1 tbsp of roasted dandelion root
  • 1 pint of water
  • Method

    Simmer gently for 20 minutes, strain and serve. Rice or oat milk can be added if desired.

    Dandelion and banana latte

    Ingredients
    Serves 1

  • 2 tsp dandelion coffee granules
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 200ml unsweetened rice milk
  • Method

    Dissolve the granules in the water. Whiz this up in a blender with the banana and rice milk.

    Dandelion and chicory coffee

    Ingredients
    Serves 2

  • 2 tsp of roasted dandelion root
  • 1 tsp of roasted chicory root
  • 1 piece of liquorice bark
  • 1 pint of water
  • Method

    Simmer gently for 20 minutes, strain and serve. Rice or oat milk can be added if desired.

    Juicy smoothie

    Ingredients
    Serves 2

  • 2 apples
  • 1 star fruit
  • 1 mango
  • Method

    Peel the mango and remove the stone. Chop the apple and star fruit and feed through the juicer. Put the juice in the blender with the mango and blend to make a thick, creamy juice.

    Pumpkin seed tea

    Ingredients

  • 2-3 tsp pumpkin seeds
  • water
  • Method

    Infuse the pumpkin seeds in one cup of boiling water for 10 minutes. This can be drunk 2-3 times a day as a male tonic particularly for prostate health.

    Goji berry smoothie

    Ingredients

  • 1 cup of goji berries, soaked overnight
  • 1 punnet of raspberries
  • 1 banana
  • Method

    Blend and serve!
