The holidays have done weird things to the staff of Mode, some of whom are completely loved-up. Wilhelmina spent the vacation, slumming it in malls in Texas with Ted LeBeau, and returns to completely freak Marc out by wearing jeans and being happy and well, normal.

Sofia also returns to a surprise: Daniel's been following 'The Steps of Love' from her hit books to prove he's no longer a feckless himbo, but ripe for marriage. The only one who isn't feeling the love is Ignacio, who is struggling with Constance, his new immigration caseworker.
But the course of true love doesn't run smooth round these parts, and after Wilhelmina is ditched by Ted, it's Daniel’s turn to be dumped in the most humiliating manner possible, and there’s nothing Betty can do about it.
Although her first day at MYW gets off to a brilliant start; the staff are nice and Sofia gives her big chance, writing the lead article for the first issue, all is not what it seems.
For some reason Sofia seems to be keeping Betty out of the way, and when her and Christina go undercover at a strip club she soon finds out why: Hunter is not Sofia's fiance, and her engagement to Daniel is part of an elaborate PR stunt.
