DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY
Likeable, professional, stern and hard working. And psychotic!
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I've been in hairdressing for 14 years, training at Vidal Sassoon's, and have been an Art Director at a number of salons. I also teach at seminars
around the world.
HAVE YOU WON ANY AWARDS?
I won Image of the Year 1998 (Fellowship) but missed receiving it as I missed my flight. I won Next Generation Award 1999 (Fellowship). I've been a finalist for L'Oreal Colour Trophy loads of times.
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING SINCE THE FIRST SERIES OF THE SALON ENDED IN APRIL?
Having a very long holiday! I've also been doing some consultancy work.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO RETURN TO WORK IN THE SALON?
It's always more of a challenge second time around to make the series even better than last time.
WHAT WERE YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENTS FROM THE LAST SERIES?
My relationship with Ricardo. And seeing Carina on the front cover of a magazine and being able to hold her own at an industry competition.
AND WORST MOMENTS?
I was disappointed in the ability of some of the stylists and the standards of hairdressing.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST THIS TIME ROUND?
I've had more input in the choice of staff and between the team I think they've got more experience than last time. So I hope we should be able to turn out some nice work.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD MEMBER OF STAFF AT THE SALON?
Someone who is a good team player. I'm much more interested in the staff's credentials and professionalism than their personalities.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT WORKING IN HAIR/BEAUTY?
I love being a hairdresser, taking the good with the bad - and it's never monotonous
BIGGEST TIP YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?
£300
WHO IS YOUR HAIR/BEAUTY ICON?
Warren Beatty from the film Shampoo.
HAVE YOU WORKED WITH ANY CELEBRITY CLIENTS?
I've worked with some of the cast of Coronation Street and a few footballers. I've also worked with model Sophie Anderton
ANY HOBBIES?
Providing pleasure. Bit of tennis, reading biographies of the cool and the interesting such as William Burrows, Francis Bacon, Kurt Cobain.
