FROM
Walton on Thames, Surrey
DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY
Sarcastic, witty, bossy, up for a laugh, a laid-back, fun, cheeky chappy.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED IN HAIRDRESSING?
When I was 19 I bleached my friend's hair and he thought it looked so good that he told me I should become a hairdresser, so I did. I have since managed a salon in London's West End, become a hairdressing instructor and travelled around the world creating new styles. I have my own hairdressing business now.
WHERE WAS YOUR LAST JOB?
Last month, I toured South Africa for ten days recreating modern trends and demonstrating the haircuts in front of an audience.
WHY DID YOU APPLY TO WORK IN THE SALON?
To have a new experience, do something different and see how I would cope in this unique situation.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Working with stylists from different backgrounds, having the opportunity to learn, plus I'd like to be able to watch myself at work!
WHAT ARE YOUR PROFESSIONAL STRENGTHS?
Being creative and presenting new styles.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT WORKING IN HAIRDRESSING?
The industry offers so many options and opportunities for hands-on creativity.
ANY ANECDOTES FROM YOUR PAST JOBS? ANY NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCES?
An old lady came into the salon and handed me her walking stick, her scarf, her hat and her wig. She had about three hairs on her head and told me that her wig would feel better if I trimmed her up!
WHAT IS YOUR TOP HAIR TIP FOR CLIENTS?
Nobody knows your own hair better than you. Understand your hair but take on board professional advice.
WHO IS YOUR HAIR ICON?
Tyler Johnson. He's like a mentor to me.
ANY HOBBIES?
Watching and playing football, and socialising.
