Thursday 17 April
Well it's the last day and I face it having made some brilliant friends and meeting some mad but lovely Clients.
What an experience. I'm so glad I've been part of The Salon and would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has followed my progress on the show. Your support has been truly appreciated.
Who knows what's next? Hopefully you haven't seen the last of me. All the best and thanks again.
Suzanne
Wednesday 2 April
AJ’s birthday, what a treat. Julie Goodyear brought in his cake. Very surreal to see Bett from the Rovers at the ironing board smoking. It made my day.
The late night went really well. Gina G also had a smoke at the ironing board. It’s becoming a place to hang out.
Tuesday 1 April
Brilliant night out at the Bachelors party. Looking forward to my first late night tomorrow. Paul finally received my contract thankfully.
Monday 31 March
Really sad to see Ricardo leaving. Wish him all the best in the future.
Sunday 30 March
Adee - asleep, Jonathan - blind, Mel - lala, Ricardo - missing list, AJ - vertigo, Vass - gorgeous, Carina - no legs, Paul - Mount Vesuvius sweating, Sabrina - knitting, Sonja - wish you were here, Suzanne - off the planet! God bless!
Thursday 27 March
Really pleased with the appraisal and delightful Ricardo was voted in. Looking forward to our last few weeks.
Wednesday 26 March
Loads of lovely Clients - lots of different characters and great conversations. Terry, the make up artist, from Mac, was really friendly and very helpful. AJ was a star as is now the norm.
Tuesday 25 March
Hope the appraisals went ok. Good to see Shavata again. Her opinion and views are always helpful. Feel really sorry for Ricardo so get voting to keep him in.
Monday 24 March
Really busy day. AJ is working really well. He’s an absolute godsend. Lovely Clients – very enjoyable day. Delighted with the new facial tanning machine. Hope I get plenty of Clients in for it.
Monday 10 March
Still don’t know if I’ll be going to Cheltenham on Thursday. I really hope I can.
Zena our trial Junior was working with us today. She seems to be a lovely girl and very keen. I so don’t want to have to coax our next Junior to work. I just hope whoever it is, is as enthusiastic as Sabrina and myself. That way we’ll all really enjoy it. And yes I do miss Olly. He became a good friend and hopefully will remain one.
Sunday 9 March
A very big thank you to all the voters for keeping me in. I’m absolutely delighted and really looking forward to the next 6 weeks.
Well you can imagine the surprise we all got when Jonathan walked in this morning. I’m sure my jaw hit the floor. I have to say I think he’s a really nice chap and I hope he stays on.
It is strange without Olly and Sandra and I do miss them both. Hopefully see them soon.
Highlight of my day was having Tony McCoy, Sean Curran and Adrian Maguire in for treatments. Three very busy jockeys in for a bit of fun. Adrian has retired due to injuries and it was amazing to see his war wounds. A very brave chap. I really have to thank Sabrina, Adrian’s wife, for getting the lads to The Salon and I hope they enjoyed the day as much as we did.
I hope to go to Cheltenham on Thursday. I have asked Paul so fingers crossed. The Racing Post has asked me to be a celebrity tipster and I’m absolutely delighted. Let’s hope I pick out a few winners.
Thursday 30 Jan
At long last a VIP invite no less. "Siemens are having a phone launch this evening and would like you to attend."
Couldn't believe it, Sophie Ellis Bexter was performing.
Well I rushed home as quick as lightning to get ready. Arrived at the 'CC Club' in Piccadilly and was escorted down to the VIP Bar. Champagne was flowing and Sandra, Sabrina and I gently sipped a few glasses!
We met the gorgeous Callum Best, what a looker, he wanted to take Sandra home in the complimentary phone bag, fair play! Sandra tried her best to fit into the bag but unfortunately to no avail.
After that one of the organisers 'Yan' who I'm eternally grateful to for inviting us all, asked me to go to the Mayfair club. Well it would have been rude not to. We left our coats with Amed the taxi driver and in we went.
My night was made when I met Frankie Dettori and his lovely wife Catherine. Frankie wants Adee to cut his hair.
Eventually got home only to discover that my keys were in my coat in the other taxi. Typical, freezing cold, slightly merry and enjoying the snow, but unfortunately locked out.
Never fear. I did manage to get in and finally ended an absolutely brilliant day and night in London.
Monday 25 Jan
The beauty and quality of an individual facial is being able to devise a treatment in accordance with the Client's specific skin care needs. I now have the majority of products and equipment at The Salon to allow me to devise top class individual facials and nothing gives me more pleasure than the ability to make a difference to someone's skin.
Stuart for example had dehydrated, sensitive and tired skin when he arrived for his appointment. By the end of his facial his skin felt comfortable, the complexion was even and he looked radiant. I did have the added advantage of Craig being naturally gorgeous but that said, Stuart's facial worked a treat. We were both really pleased with the results.
Tip Gentlemen suffering from razor rash might feel that ditching soap laden shaving foam for silicone based shaving balms will eradicate the irritation that they are experiencing.
Peter who owns a painting and decorating business needless to say had a very tight, stiff back. A lovely gentleman who needs to have regular back, neck and shoulder massages. I'm really pleased that The Salon is so popular with the male population. They too need a bit of pampering.
Shock horror. Ricardo helped with the washing up! Have I missed something?
Tip Pretty men afraid of washing up - wear gloves and get stuck in!
Sunday 24 Jan
The start of a new week. Had a great night out with Sandra's family on Thursday night. Sonja, Chris, Darragh and myself went to Zeta's Bar after the meal. I'm determined to see a bit of London nightlife. So far The Salon has provided the staff with no fun night out and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed about that. I'll live in hope!
My first Client was a competition winner called Paul who hails from New Zealand. Paul had a neck and shoulder massage which seems to be a favourite treatment with most of the Clients I have treated. I must be doing something right thankfully.
Anne and her daughter were spending a pampering day together which I think is a lovely idea. I manicured Pam's hands and removed some unwanted facial hair. Anne was having her hair professionally cut for the first time in years and I must say she looked a treat by the end of the day.
My last Client has recently been made redundant and has some serious DIY plans for his home. If only he could stop watching E4.
It was Greg's first time to have a self tan and he was really impressed. Having fair skin, a natural tan is very hard to achieve but with the help of a hassle free salon tan the look can be achieved.
Tip Always exfoliate the entire body before a fresh home application of tan to ensure that the tan fades evenly. Exfoliation should be carried out around 3-4 days after initial application.
Thursday 23 Jan
First Client of the day was mad - a lovely French gay chap who was legitimately married to another gay chap. I didn't realise that such unions were legal in France but was pleased to hear it.
Ginny was my second Client. A South African-Asian writing a book about India and her travels and experiences she encountered. An interesting view point - should be a good book. I hope to read it some day.
Vass was enjoying his dinner accompanied by the stalest bread I've seen. Hope he survives it like a real geezer!
Delighted to see Betty from Graham Norton. She was up for everything and fair play to her.
John, an ex-pilot, had a seriously upset big toe. Apparently an old injury from when he dropped a piano down on it. Music to his toes I'm sure.
A group of 4 lads were here for ages. A fit fireman called John and Richard, who was into gym sales, both had back massages.
Last but not least was Craig from Capital Radio who was being waxed for the first time. Boy did he feel the pain but he was a good sport about it. However he wouldn't have the back of his legs waxed so he did wimp out a bit. I'm sure he'll be bck for more. We'll be waiting!
Wednesday 22 Jan
Had a really busy day. Beginning to feel more settled in The Salon. It's a bit bizarre having changed city, home, work and friends all at once. I'm really lucky that all my friends and family stay in touch and are enjoying The Salon. It makes all the upheaval worthwhile.
I'm also lucky to have met such a good bunch of people up here in London. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun along the way.
Highlight of the day has to be my neck and shoulder massage on Neil the champion arm wrestler. What a gentleman and what a body. A real pleasure to do. I'd like to wish Neil and his sister all the best in their coming competition and if they ever need a massage I hope they'll look no further and give me a call!
Tuesday 21 Jan
Matloob, what a character! He started off really quiet and timid and ended up like King of the Jungle! He's certainly determined to fill his 'harem' with lots of princesses and I'm sure he will.
Lots of plans being made by the girls for nights out in London. Can't wait!
Got some good PR ideas from Alice (can't stop hearing the song) and I thought her eyelashes looked lovely. Hope she enjoyed her time with us.
Monday 20 Jan
Feeling great, had an interesting day. Really enjoyed meeting Shelly and Paul. I hope Paul didn't get too much stick back at his local and who knows, they might have had a successful baby making night. I really hope so.
My last Client had lovely skin but unfortunately had ruined it by using harsh products. It was a real pleasure to give her some helpful advice and I was pleased with how her skin looked when I had finished.
Olly got a warning from upstairs. I felt really sorry for him. Hope everything works out for him.
Sunday 19 Jan
Feeling absolutely shattered. Made a complete fool of myself at the staff meeting when I started to laugh at nothing in particular. I'm sure they must all think I'd lost it. Soon recovered my composure and got on with my treatments.
The oxygen facials are working a treat. I've decided to give the Guinness a miss for a few days. Water only until Thursday!
Friday 18 Jan
Absolutely mad busy. Sara and Hayley the twins were really nice to work with and the Clients were all really good fun to do. Very strange and quiet without the hairdressers.
Thursday 17 Jan
A naked Brazilian man was in the sauna admiring his bits. I had a good laugh with him when he was having his massage. I mistakingly thought he wanted to have a boob job when in fact he was talking about having his chest muscles enlarged!
All the staff went out for a drink and had a great time. All in all a good day.
