The truth is getting closer and closer for our intrepid threesome as they await their walk of a lifetime.
Strapped inside the pod, Keri, Paul and Billy prepared themselves for the biggest adventure of their lives but it wasn't because they were going for a space stroll.
As the three cosmonauts chatted in anticipation of a space stroll, Johnny Vaughan waited with an audience of friends, family, cadets and of course, actors outside the simulator. The atmosphere was, well, intact (it was Earth after all).
Inside the pod, the atmosphere was just as tense.
"Come on!" shouted Paul while Keri moaned, "I'm getting impatient now."
"What's going on?" asked Billy.
Just before they had a chance to get restless, Johnny Vaughan materialised on the monitor. If the cadets had harboured any doubts, they were about to be confirmed.
Shown a video that detailed all of their reservations, the truth hit Keri, Billy and Paul in the face like a giant custard pie.
"I knew it," they chorused as they realised the joke. "Charlie! He never had that worm then. He's a stooge!" shouted Paul in disbelief.
"That's so embarrassing," laughed Billy.
Whereas Keri wasn't as pleased. "I'm soooo pissed off," she said.
"We've been had. We've had our pants down," said Paul, before asking an even more important question, "What's my hair like?"
With a jolt the simulator bumped down to earth for a final touch down.
So how would the cadets take it when they found out they'd been orbiting the floor of an old aircraft hangar for the past five days? Would they laugh, woud they cry?
And when it comes to the biggest TV practical joke, do they have the right stuff to take it?
