Poetry in Motion

Poetry in Motion

Charlie has penned another poem about life in space, and having a worm exit his bum, meanwhile Paul has labelled Drew a good astronaut, but a bad actor ...

Something about orbiting the earth has brought out the lyrical side in our cadets. They are forever expressing themselves in verse.

Charlie was the latest to commit pen to paper, trying to sum up the strange events of yesterday in rhyme.

"Beneath us the planet serenely turns,
Up here we had excitement, confusion and worms,
A fly appeared and was not ignored,
By Commander Yevgeny and a clipboard,
A worm appeared, was flicked on the head,
Fetched, exhibited, freeze-dried, dead,

We were called upon to write a song,
Little knowing our song would be sung along
With the funeral of a TV dog,
It's ashes a dust buster did clog
We laughed, we sang, we hovered, we cried,
The fridge fell apart, the tapeworm died
Oh Lord, we cosmonauts humbly pray
Can today be a slightly more normal day?"

The cadets applauded and Yevgeny told Charlie he spoke for everybody.

In other developments, Drew performed a famous scene from Jerry Maguire, and was told by Paul that he was a good astronaut, but a bad actor!

Keri asked Billy if he would marry her, should he become rich. He ducked the question and got away with it.

The cadets, minus Charlie, began getting into their space suits to prepare for a space walk. Charlie was deemed unfit on the basis he had a worm exit his bottom yesterday.

That's space for you.
