Smooth Running On Board

After last night's turbulence, the Cadets take a look at the Earth and faith is restored. Meanwhile, Paul puts on his clever head.

The Cadets' morning wake-up call comprised of a blast of the stirring Russian National Anthem. Yevgeny, Drew, and Charlie stood to attention, saluting, while Paul stood clutching his sleeping bag around his torso.

As he woke, Paul told the pilots and Charlie, "In the morning, I have wisdom from the night before. I'm quite clever today. I think I'll put my clever head on today."

Drew apologised for the turbulence experienced the night before, which he explained as a misalignment of the AGG.

"Misalignment? Where are we headed? Mars?" asked Paul, clearly suspicious. "We could be 10 feet from Minsk. We got no windows," he said.

Drew told him that it would be disastrous to be that close to Minsk at their speed.

When Capcom came on the line, Yevgeny asked, "How many surprises do you have today?"

Capcom hoped everything would run smoothly today.

The doubts that had loomed so large last night disappeared as soon as Drew said, "Any of you want to see the Earth? She's looking mighty pretty right now."

Billy scrambled to put his lenses in as the rest rushed to the cockpit.

"That's fantastic. That's lovely, innit. It's so clear today," said Paul, as they hovered over Canada.

Keri was quiet and may still have her qualms, but the balance on the Shuttle has shifted back in favour of the believers.

The truth is so out there ...
