Meet lecturer Chris Welch

Chris Welch is responsible for educating the cadets about space.

A lecturer in Astronautics at Kingston University, and the chair of the Space Education Council, Christopher Welch is responsible for the education of our Space Cadets.

Whilst the majority of his lectures are true, for the purpose of the hoax, around 20% of the information will simply be made up.

Chris says: 'Interestingly, the cadets rarely question any of the false information, but find it hard to believe many of the genuine facts!'

'I am keen to get the message about space out to people, and hopefully viewers will learn something new, and exciting. My uncertainties about deliberately lecturing false information were eased when I found out viewers will see an on-screen indicator whenever I tell a fib!'

Previously an expert on Channel 5's 'Swapheads' programme in 2002, and one of the judges in the first series of 'Scrapheap Challenge' he has also contributed to hundreds of space-related stories on the radio and TV, despite not owning a television himself.
