Before Shipwrecked

What attracted you to spend five months on a desert island?

Sun, sea and sand.  Also the challenge of living with people I have never met before and the length of time I'd be away. Just like being in the Marines, I wanted to make lifelong friends and a wicked experience.

What were you doing before you arrived on the Island?

I was serving in The Royal Marines for four and a half years.

What did your friends and family think of you doing it?

My friends and family thought it was an amazing opportunity/challenge and they were really jealous.

What do you think you will achieve by doing it?

By coming on Shipwrecked, I hope I will find out what I’m like as a person, how I will cope in so many different situations and if I can rise to the challenge of winning Shipwrecked.

What's your longest period away from home prior to Shipwrecked?

Two and a half months when I was in Senegal with the Marines.

What did you think about having to spend so long away from home with complete strangers?

It was quite daunting knowing that I was going to be living with strangers. I was nervous because I hoped I would get on with everyone. Five months is a long time to live in people's pockets; it can cause a lot of arguments!

What's your worst habit?

Probably that I judge people too quickly before properly getting to know them.

What's your best feature?

I can turn my hand to most things, I'm very inquisitive and I love learning which helps when dealing with the new arrivals.
