Before Shipwrecked
What attracted you to spend five months on a desert island?
I wanted the opportunity to get away from home for a while, as well as meet loads of completely new and unexpected people. The tranquility and chance to relax was a big plus.
What were you doing before you arrived on the Island?
I had just left Bournemouth University as a journalism graduate and was job hunting whilst temping.
What did your friends and family think of you doing it?
My friends and family were so excited for me, all very supportive and slightly jealous!
What do you think you will achieve by doing it?
I feel like I have grown as a person - I didn't think I was one of those 'find myself' kind of people, but I've learnt a lot about relationships between friends and how you overcome obstacles as well as show your appreciation for one another.
What's your longest period away from home prior to Shipwrecked?
Travelling around the world for six months.
What did you think about having to spend so long away from home with complete strangers?
It didn't bother me, I was very excited. I've come from a background where my dad is in the army and I've been boarding since aged 8 so living away was never a problem.
What's your worst habit?
Judging people too quickly.
What's your best feature?
Finding common ground with anybody - being interested in at least one thing they have to offer, if not lots.
