• Ben won a modelling contract when he was 17, but decided it wasn't something that he wanted to pursue.

Before Shipwrecked

What attracted you to spend five months on a desert island?

The chance to experience life with absolutely no luxury items which I normally take for granted, like my phone, TV etc. and of course waking up to beautiful girls in bikinis isn't too bad really.

What were you doing before you arrived on the Island?

I was working for an investment bank in Oxford Circus, London. I was really enjoying my job, but there was no way I could pass up the opportunity to be Shipwrecked.

What did your friends and family think of you doing it?

My family members were very supportive of me and behind me 100 percent. My friends were too but they can't wait to see me on the telly and for me to say something stupid so they can have a good laugh.

What do you think you will achieve by doing it?

Maybe for me to grow in confidence in certain areas - I can be shy sometimes so hopefully being Shipwrecked will get me to come out of my shell.

What's your longest period away from home prior to Shipwrecked?

2 weeks when I went to Italy on a school trip when I was 15.

What did you think about having to spend so long away from home with complete strangers?

I was extremely nervous, but really excited at the same time. I hope I'll be able to get along with them all.

What's your worst habit?

Biting my nails probably, or clicking my neck. Actually maybe singing, as I do it a lot... and I am the world's worst singer.

What's your best feature?

Hopefully people will agree, but I feel I am extremely honest and genuine.
