Battle of the Islands
For the first half of the week the Shark’s play host to new arrivals Vicky, a law graduate from Nottingham, and 26 year old Michael. As well as bonding with the new arrivals, the Sharks are also welcoming Tom ,who at the previous day’s beach party nominated himself to become a Shark and was accepted by the tribe.
Tom decides to tell the Sharks about the underhand tactics used by the Tigers to win last week’s new arrival Matt. Tom is honest about the fact it was his idea but told them it was the Tigers who struck the deal with Matt. The Sharks are furious and warn Vicky and Michael before they leave for Tiger Island.
During their time with the Tigers, Vicky and Michael try to keep an open mind. Winning last week’s new arrival Matt and getting rid of Tom sees spirits high amongst the Tigers and the jubilant atmosphere in camp rubs off on the new arrivals. The tribe build a nightclub in the new arrival’s honour and both Vicky and Michael are extremely impressed and quickly forget about the warning the Sharks gave them about the Tiger tactics.
At the beach party the Tigers are victorious as Michael and Vicky choose their island to live on. The Tigers choose Vicky to join their tribe which means Michael is the 6th Shipwrecked castaway the tribes believe is going home.

The Third Island
This week sees a testing time on the secret third island for the self-named Hawks as Michael arrives and no sooner does he get off the boat than he tells the tribe he won’t be staying. Already in the mind-set of going home; he misses his friends and family and has no intention of trying out life on the third island.
The self-named Hawks are supportive of Michael’s decision and try to make his last night on the island as fun as possible. The following day Michael spends some time alone and comes to the conclusion that he wants to stay and announces this to the shell-shocked tribe. However, a day later and Michael’s changed his mind once again and tells the tribe that he’s leaving – this time he sticks to it - and packs his bags to leave for good that day.
Michael’s departure makes the self-named Hawks reflect on home, friends and family and they realise that Michael leaving has also brought them closer together as a group.
