Football Crazy
January 10th, 11:30AM
One hour after falling asleep in the Science Tests, and losing £1,000 for the prize fund, Chris got the chance to win back a grand in the Weary Versus O'Leary challenge.
The 22-year old had been having a tough morning, but was willing to face the mighty Mr O'Leary and looked confident in his abilities, particularly when Dermot revealed he wasn't very good at table football.
The two contestants took their place at the mini-pitch, with Clare S and Jonathan looking on nervously from the sidelines.
The game began on a pretty equal footing, with both challengers managing to knock a ball into the other's goalposts.
Dermot looked confident. Chris, for the first time in ages, looked wide awake.
Gradually Chris' game started to pick up, and he was soon thumping Dermot's goalposts – winning goal after goal. "I never did any work at college," he explained to the gang.
Tensions mounted as the game progressed, but, luckily for Chris, he won through in the end, reaching 10 goals before Dermot.
There were cheers all round as the prize total increased by £1,000 – but if anyone has an illegal kip this afternoon they won't get a chance to win back any money they lose. It's going to be a tough day...
