Debbie tells Fiona that Steve has come back to see her after he turns up at her school disguised as a social worker. The local elections are on and Kash gains an unexpected victory against another candidate who reveals himself as a racist.

Lillian's husband is run over by Tony and Stan's police van. On closer inspection, it is discovered that he died from a bullet to his head.

Carol realises that it was Carl who shot him, after he found a gun hidden in the bushes and set it off accidentally. The family do all that they can to protect Carl being found out by the police.

After being reunited with Steve in less than fortunate circumstances, Fiona must make a choice of who she wants to be with. Steve persuades her to leave her family and go with him.
