You Say, We Pay Competition Refund
Since February 2007, when we first became aware that there was a problem with You Say We Pay, we have been looking into whether the problems with the competition in the last two series of Richard and Judy (19 June to 1 September 2006 and 29 January to 15 February 2007) had extended to earlier series.

We have now completed our investigation, with the assistance of specialist external lawyers, and our evidence shows that the problem with some calls not being entered into the competition dates back to September 2004.

Here’s what you need to do to if you would like to claim a refund:
If you’ve already made a claim for the last 2 series of 19 June to 1 September 2006 and 29 January to 15 February 2007, you don’t need to do anything more – we’ll calculate any additional money you’re owed from September 2004 onwards from the records we’ve now got on file and send this to you.

If you haven’t yet claimed, you can do so now for any of the affected series by sending us a copy of any phone bill for the number you called from, so that we can establish that it’s your number. Please ensure that this shows your full name and address as well as the phone number. We’ll then work out how much you’re owed and send you a cheque. If you have to obtain a copy of a bill from your service provider we will refund this cost if you include a receipt for this charge along with your bill.

Please note that refunds are in respect of calls not properly entered into the competition, not all calls made to the competition line.

If you are on Pay As You Go and therefore do not have a copy of a bill, please write to us with your full name and address, along with the phone number you called from and we will investigate your claim further.

The Freepost address to send your bill to is:

FREEPOST YOU SAY WE PAY

This must all be in capital letters and make sure you don’t write anything else on the envelope (no other address details are needed) as this may cause a delay in the post. Please also note that you must not put a stamp on the envelope.

In case you need to check, the You Say We Pay competition numbers were: 09014 904444 from September to December 2004,
09013 264444 from January to July 2005, and
09012 934400 from September 2005 to February 2007

Once the full cost of the refund is known and has been paid, Channel 4 will donate the remainder of its profits from improperly entered calls which have not been claimed and refunded to The Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

We are very sorry for the problems with the You Say, We Pay competition and for all the inconvenience this has caused you. We very much regret that our viewers were misled in this way, and we have introduced new checks and guidelines to ensure that these errors will not reoccur in this or any other Channel 4 programme.
