RICHARD & JUDY ("the Programme")

RULES AND PROCEDURES FOR THE ‘YOU SAY WE PAY’ COMPETITION and any other RICHARD & JUDY COMPETITION ("the Competition")

These rules are the basis of entry by viewers, subject to any additional or amended rules or procedures stated on air during the Programme required by circumstances arising during live broadcasting or in response to changes in scheduling of items within the Programme. They are also subject to change from time to time, in which case the amended rules will be applicable from the date of publication.

Entry
Entry to the Competition is solely by premium rate phone call to the number promoted on air. Callers are required to follow the instructions on the line and answer correctly an initial question posed on air for that day's Competition. Callers may enter as many times as they wish. Entries to each day's Competition close at a specific time stated on the Programme on the day of transmission and any call taken after this time will be void.

Selection of Contestants
After entries close, a shortlist of potential Contestants will be chosen from all correct entries and will be phoned by the Programme to check identity and ensure their availability to take part by phone as that day's on-air Contestant. One of the potential Contestants on the shortlist will then be selected to be called to take part on air. If the chosen Contestant fails to answer the call on air within 3 rings another Contestant on the shortlist will be called to take part. A Contestant who for any reason does not participate on air has no entitlement to a prize or to automatic selection as a future Contestant.

The Contest
A Contestant selected in accordance with the procedures stated above shall be invited to describe a stream of images shown on air during a period of one minute ('the Session'). The Contestant shall win £1,000 for each image correctly identified by the presenters within the Session. Images not correctly identified shall earn no prize but will be followed by new images until the Session expires. The Programme Editor shall have absolute discretion as to the correctness or acceptability of answers given by the Presenters. In the event of a dispute, the Programme Editor's decision shall be final. Prize money shall be paid in the form of a cheque made payable to the Contestant and despatched within 28 days of the date of transmission.

General Rules (Applicable to all on-air Competitions)
Employees of Cactus Television, Channel Four, Eckoh Technologies (UK) Limited, All3Media or members of their immediate family, including any live-in partner, are ineligible to enter the Competition. Entrants must be over 16. Entries which are incorrect, incomplete or inaudible will be void. Entrants must comply with any directions given to them by the Programme in regard to conformity of legal or compliance issues. No refund will be made for the cost of any entry. The Programme may refuse to pay prize money, or seek its recovery, in the event of a Contestant's fraud, dishonesty or non-entitlement under these rules. In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the operation of any part of the Competition or the operation of the phone system, the decision of the Programme shall be final.

The Programme can make no guarantee of telephone access to the Competition. Names of winners and a copy of these rules will be available on request to those sending a stamped self-addressed envelope to You Say We Pay Rules, PO Box 21, Darwen, BB3 1GH. All entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these rules.

The Programme may postpone, suspend, cancel or terminate the Competition at any time.

Other specific competition prizes (such as cars, holidays, homes, etc.) are as described on the Programme. These may be subject to change from those specifically displayed. There is no cash alternative to specific prizes.
