About the UK Poker Tour

Dougie Anderson

Dougie Anderson
The 22-part series follows the final table action at each of the eleven stops on the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour. Each event is split across two programmes, so viewers can see as many hands from the final tables as possible.

Dougie Anderson presents the shows, while author and journalist Victoria Coren will be leading the commentary throughout the series. She'll be joined in the commentary booth by some of the UK's top poker pro's including Roland de Wolfe, Marc Goodwin and Hendon Mobster Ross Boatman.

The Trophy

The Trophy
The shows will air every Tuesday night til 23rd October. From then, there'll also be an extra show on Sunday nights.

Alongside the poker itself, the shows will profile the finalists in their day-to-day lives, send up players who thought anyone wanted to hear about their bad beat tales, and go behind the scenes to find out what happened in the tournament before we got down to the final nine.

Making UK Poker Tour

Channel 4's award-winning production team, Sunset & Vine follow every hand dealt on the GUKPT. Here’s a sneak peak behind the scenes from the biggest poker show to be shown on British TV:

The crew set up the TV table in the casino, with 35 crew members for each show.

As play gets under way, outside the casino in the TV truck the director watches the play from all angles – choosing the best shot from the seven cameras used to capture all the action.

Inside the casino the final table plays out in front of a live audience.

An image recognition system records the details of each hand dealt.

The cameras record every hand played, with over ten hours of video recorded – which will be edited down to two one-hour shows at a later date.
