Victoria Coren is an author, journalist and poker player. She is the daughter of humourist Alan Coren, sister of journalist Giles Coren and a graduate of the University of Oxford.

Coren writes weekly columns for The Observer and The Guardian newspapers and regular articles for other publications.

Her books include:

  • Once more with feeling (about her attempt, with co-author Charlie Skelton, to make the best porn movie ever!)
  • Carried away by Tony G

Vicky adapted C: Because Cowards Get Cancer Too... by her friend John Diamond into a play called A Lump In My Throat. She is also the presenter of BBC2's Balderdash and Piffle as well as Radio 4's Off the Page programme.

During her poker career, she has become a close friend of The Hendon Mob, and mixed weekly home games with frequent visits to two regular casinos.

Coren appeared in five episodes of Late Night Poker, although she never made it to a series grand final. However in Late Night Poker's spin-off Celebrity Poker Club, she defeated Willie Thorne to win the series two grand final before joining Jesse May as the commentator in series three. Vicky won the main event of the 2006 European Poker Tour. After a grueling four-day event she found herself heads up with Aussie pro Emad Tahtou. After only two hands of heads up play the table saw a flop of 5-3-4. Emad moved all-in and Coren called instantly. Emad showed 8-8, and Vicky had 6-7. Having flopped the straight she defeated her opponent and walked away with £500,000 in prize money.

As of 2006, Vicky's total live tournament winnings exceeded $1,000,000.
